Team Dempsey

Lane Amburgey joined Dempsey Construction in 2025 in the role of People and Talent. He is responsible for managing internal recruiting needs across the company and overseeing internship recruitment. Lane has a proven track record of successfully sourcing and placing construction management roles such as Superintendents, Estimators, Project Engineers, and Project Managers. Originally from Alabama, Lane is a proud alumnus of the University of Alabama. Lane and his wife Anastasiya have two golden retrievers, Piper (8) and Oliver (4), and a recently adopted 20+ year old Congo African grey parrot named Merlin. They are an adventurous family who love spending time outdoors.

Marcus grew up in Spokane, WA, and has always considered the Pacific Northwest home. In 2007, Marcus joined the United States Marine Corps and served honorably for 8 years. During his time in service Marcus married his wife, Lauren, also a Spokane native and a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of San Diego. Upon his transition from service, Marcus began his career in commercial construction with a focus on the Life Science market in San Diego. While working full-time, Marcus utilized his GI Bill benefits to complete his education and ultimately graduate with a B.S. in Business Management from Pepperdine University. Marcus joined Dempsey Construction in August 2018 and has worked up to his current position as Senior Project Manager. As a Senior Project Manager, Marcus is responsible for the success of a project’s schedule, budget, and client relations, ensuring the ultimate success of all parties involved. Marcus strives to deliver projects that exceed our client’s expectations. The most rewarding experience for Marcus is knowing that a client’s vision has been brought to life on time and within budget. Outside work, Marcus enjoys playing golf and spending as much time as possible with his wife and three boys.

Mark Ringkamp joined Dempsey Construction as a Superintendent in 2018. Starting his career in construction as an apprentice, Mark quickly moved up the ranks to Senior Superintendent, holding an impressive resume with a wide array of commercial and residential projects. Originally from Fallbrook, Mark played baseball for Palomar College where he was named “Player of the Year” in California and named one of the All-American honors for baseball. From Palomar, Mark played for San Jose State University on an athletic scholarship where he majored in kinesiology. Following his time at San Jose State, Mark spent three years playing with the Texas Rangers organization. When his time playing baseball ended, his career in construction began.

As Vice President of Preconstruction, Mark is responsible for the coordination of all estimating and project budgeting, as well as participating in constructability reviews and value engineering exercises. He also manages all project bidding to subcontractors and plays a major role in the selection of subcontractors for each project. Mark graduated from California State University, Hayward with a B.A. in Business Administration and is a LEED Accredited Professional for Building Design & Construction. Mark enjoys being a part of teams that help our clients’ visions come to life. Being able to bring his knowledge and expertise to the table, and as a result, help make a project come in on time and on budget, is very gratifying. In his spare time, Mark enjoys cycling, hiking, traveling and spending time with his friends and family.

Maryn joined Dempsey Construction in 2026 as a Project Engineer. A San Diego native, she earned her degree in Business Management and Operations from Arizona State University, with a minor in Project Management. Outside of work, Maryn enjoys baking, spending time at the beach and outdoors, and connecting with family and friends.

A native of North County, San Diego, Matt graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 2017 with a B.S. in Politics. Matt always wanted to work in an industry that gives back to the community where he grew up. He was drawn to construction as a career because it is a perfect combination of creating job opportunities and improving our community by creating beautiful spaces for people to learn and grow together. In his spare time, Matt enjoys playing guitar, DJing, and going to the beach. 

Matthew joined Dempsey Construction in 2024 as a Project Engineer and quickly advanced to Assistant Project Manager. Originally from the East Coast, Matt graduated from Michigan State University in 2022 with a degree in Construction Management following his five years in the Navy. In his free time, Matt enjoys exploring Southern California, spending time with his dog, and traveling.

In her role as Senior Project Coordinator, Merissa assists the project management teams in marrying the worlds of ownership, subcontractors and our own internal personnel. Merissa graduated from Hofstra University with a B.A. in Psychology and has been with DCI since 2014. Merissa is motivated by seeing the work we do come to life and hearing the good praise from the clients we work with. It is her goal to give our clients an honest class “A” service and assure them that they can count on us. Merissa is a proud New Yorker and a huge fan of the NY Giants!

Michael joined Dempsey Construction in 2026 as a Project Engineer. A native of Encinitas, he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of San Diego. While new to the commercial construction sector, Michael brings a background in the residential real estate market and is eager to expand his expertise in the general contracting space while contributing to the success of our team. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active through beach volleyball, body surfing, and working out, as well as traveling and attending concerts.
