Armando Rodrguez joined Dempsey Construction in 2019 as a member of the Field Operations Team.
Armando Velasquez joined Dempsey Construction in 2024 as a Project Engineer. Originally from Pico Rivera, Armando moved to San Diego to attend UCSD, where he graduated with a BS in Structural Engineering and played on the school's club soccer team. His love of construction led him to construction management. In his spare time, Armando enjoys working out, playing soccer, hiking, snowboarding, and making playlists.
Armin joined Dempsey Construction in 2020, quickly working his way to Senior Project Manager. As SPM, Armin's responsibilities include preparing owner contracts and negotiating terms; providing design-build services and driving the design permit process; executing early-release requests for long-lead items to prevent impact on the project schedule; and completing thorough constructability reviews and cost analyses of owner-saving opportunities. Armin attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he earned a B.S. in Construction Management in 2017, and has several years of industry experience. Armin loves getting into the mix and helping solve construction challenges so that projects finish on time and on budget, with the utmost quality and craftsmanship. His overall vision is to provide cost-effective, proven solutions that help owners achieve their development goals. In his spare time, you can catch Armin going on a run during lunch or partaking in a pickup game of tennis after work.
Austin Gauerke joined Dempsey Construction in 2024 as a Project Engineer. A native of San Diego, Austin recently graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Civil Engineering. He has previously worked on the contractor’s side, managing the structural scope of a $350 million water treatment facility, and on the design side, monitoring pump stations and coordinating water treatment plant upgrades. In his spare time, Austin enjoys just about anything outdoors, including soccer, surfing, and running.
Barret Ammon, a LEED Accredited Professional, is a Senior Project Manager at Dempsey Construction, where he joined in 2024. With over 18 years of experience in commercial construction, he has managed projects ranging from $3 million to $285 million. For the past decade, Barret has led high-performing teams on complex assignments, consistently delivering results with precision, energy, and a strong commitment to client satisfaction.
Ben joined Dempsey Construction in 2025 as a Project Engineer. Originally from Denver, Colorado, Ben earned his degree in Business Management with a focus on Entrepreneurship from San Diego State University. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to successfully launch and operate two small businesses, including a landscaping company. Ben’s passion for construction was deeply inspired by a mission trip to Brazil, where he helped build a church for a village along the Amazon River. This experience solidified his commitment to the industry and its potential to make a meaningful impact. Outside of work, Ben enjoys spending time outdoors and is an avid golfer, surfer, hiker, snowboarder, and fisherman.
Ben Walker joined Dempsey Construction in 2024 as a Project Engineer. A native of Oswego, Oregon, Ben graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Construction Engineer Management. Ben has previously worked on a variety of projects including a 460,000 SF children's hospital in Omaha and a multi-billion-dollar offshore oil rig off the coast of Texas. In his free time, Ben enjoys golfing, bodysurfing, bodyboarding, and working on his cars.
Boo Powers joined Dempsey Construction in 2022 and is currently a member of the Field Operations team.
In his role as Superintendent, Brandon is directly responsible for overall job site supervision of craft foremen and their crews; estimating, ordering, and controlling material and equipment; job scheduling; coordinating the budget and maintaining labor cost controls; coordination with city/county agencies; and overall coordination and scheduling of all subcontractors.. Brandon is a licensed California State General Contractor with over 20 years of building experience and a proud member of the American Safety Council where he is OSHA 30 certified. The inspirational drive in Brandon’s life is his beautiful wife and two awesome children. In his spare time, Brandon enjoys weight training and freestyle breakdancing.
