At Dempsey Construction, we know that the people who make up our team are the reason for our success. Without our group of Genuine Builders, Dempsey Construction would not be the organization it is today. That is why we place such a high importance on people, on strong relationships and on company culture. In this installment of People of Dempsey, we’re introducing Steve Doddridge, Superintendent at Dempsey Construction for the past three years.

Steve’s favorite Dempsey project to-date is Hoehn Porsche Carlsbad, a new state-of-the-art Porsche sales and service facility off the 5 freeway. “Just look at that building!” he said. “It really has that wow factor. It’s great to know that thousands of people drive by it every day and probably think, ‘Wow, that’s an impressive building.’” The three-story, 71,614 square-foot dealership facility features two levels of showroom and service areas and one level of parking above. The modern architecture stands out in Carlsbad, where architecture consists of mostly Spanish-Mediterranean style buildings.

“Dempsey Construction takes pride in the quality, budget and completion schedule of every project,” said Steve. “It’s not just about making money with Dempsey. It’s about building trust and relationships with people.”

To Steve, the team at Dempsey Construction has become his family in San Diego.

“Since all my family still lives in Oregon and Washington, I have found great friends in San Diego who I consider family,” said Steve. “I’m marrying my fiancé Kristina in November of this year. We also have an eight-month-old Great Dane, Jeter, who we consider our only child. To me, family is the core group of friends, relatives and coworkers that you surround yourself with. By that definition, I would call everyone at Dempsey my family!”

During his free time, Steve enjoys traveling, going to craft breweries and wineries, kayaking and taking Jeter everywhere.
